Hu Yikuan was born in 1990, currently lives and works in Shanghai. He graduated from Film & Video Department of MASSART in 2017(MFA), and teaching from the Department of Public Art, East China Normal University since 2017. Recent exhibitions include “Teaching benefits teachers as well as students-The Academy Experimental Art Documenta III”, CAFAM, Beijing (2017); “The Work of Being Here”, Doran Galley, Boston (2016); “PERSON, PLACE, THING”, Arnheim Gallery, Boston (2015); “Night Raid”, M50 View Center, Shanghai (2013);  “The Bad Land Project” M50 Tao Pu, Shanghai (2012); “+FOLLOW”, Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai, Shanghai (2011). In his image making, he generates narrative from the intimate undercurrent of personal experience, and intertwines the mythological imagination of daily life with a voluptuous vision.
